Agency outing 2019: From feasts for the eyes to a feast for the palate

Paddle steamers, Alpine cheese and kirsch: This year's agency outing took the Communicators team to Central Switzerland.
The meeting point of this year's agency excursion was a round trip ship in the port of Lucerne and the destination was the lakeside village of Vitznau. With Swiss punctuality, the ship plunged into Lake Lucerne and guided the passengers past idyllic bays and inland lake fjords in plenty of sunshine. Arriving in Vitznau, the next destination already presented itself to us: the Rigi - the queen of the mountains. The trip with the mountain railway up to the Rigi Kulm provided the well-known spectacular view over the surrounding lakes and mountains. But when a cloud joined us at the summit, the hike to Chäserenalp turned into a humid and cold experience. At an altitude of about 1,700 metres above sea level, we made the acquaintance of peace-loving cows, rescued ourselves from a farmer's fury and were then able to strengthen our strength with a raclette at the Chäserenalp inn. In order to cope better with the extremely tasty and heavy fare, we stopped at the Fassbind family's main house in Oberarth on our return journey. There the famous Rigi cherry brandy was invented. With a lot of wit and charm Mr. Fassbind guided us through the premises and a cherry sarcophagus, where once Queen Victoria from England, King Ludwig II of Bavaria or Hermann Hesse were also guests, and let the whole team taste several vintage cherry brandies. In a funny mood, the team made their way home again in the evening of this eventful agency excursion.
